The Best White Cake Recipe for Every Occasion
First of all, there’s just something about a white cake that looks so elegant, but sometimes the taste can fall flat to its gorgeous exterior. Let me be the first to say this recipe delivers on appearance and taste. Most white cakes call for only egg whites BUT let’s get real as soon as you toss out those yolks there goes half your flavor. I’m not willing to sacrifice taste just to have a snow white cake. This cake is like your go to favorite pair of shoes. You know, the cute, comfortable ones that go with every outfit. Buttercream frosting, cream cheese frosting, chocolate, fruit, you name it you can probably pair it with this cake! Therefore, let’s recap this cake if delicious, pretty, and oh, did I mention SOOOOO easy to make!
This white cake recipe honestly never disappoints. Everyone has their favorite cake flavor, and some of us have a flavor they despise. I despise red velvet cake, sure it looks pretty, and everyone says it’s just chocolate cake. Let me tell you, it’s not, it’s all a lie. For instance, every single time I have eaten red velvet cake I have gotten tossed your cookies sick. TMI yeah, I know. Nevertheless, if anyone has a favorite red velvet cake recipe they love, post it in the comments and I might give this red colored cake one more chance.
If you haven’t lost your appetite yet, let’s get back to the best cake ever. If you’re not a lover of white cake I’ll give you two reasons to become one.
This cake has two secret ingredients
1. Sour Cream
2. Moscato wine.
As a result, the two secret ingredients give it just enough pop of flavor to take this traditional white cake over the top.
White cakes resinate typically with weddings, but my poor family probably doesn’t know any other cake flavors exist. I make this white cake for every occasion, but of course, will change up the frosting flavor. The timeless flavor, delicate texture, and smooth taste will undoubtingly win over your harshest critic. You know we all have someone in the family that bless their heart can’t keep those comments to themselves. In fact, don’t hesitate to serve a big slice of this cake to your most talkative relatives and leave them speechless. 🙂
