Honey honey, nearly kill me, a-ha, honey honey
I’d heard about you before
I wanted to know some more…
Any Abba fans out there??? Today’s post is all about honey! I love everything about honey, and if I’m honest, I probably add a little bit to everything I make. Sorry, I’m not sorry, but I have a ginormous sweet tooth! Believe it or not, honey has more uses than just the ones being used in the kitchen. I’m sure by know you’ve come across a few honey facial recipes, but I thought I would share my favorites anyway. Here are a few honey facial mask recipes I’ve been using forever, others I’ve come up with or came across along the way.
I have a slight confession; I have a tendency to be a slob-ka-bob on occasion. One of my bad habits that drive my husband crazy is leaving my homemade facial masks in the bathroom. There might be a detox mask in there right now..oops. Admitting you have a problem is the first step.. right?
Why choose honey? Skin products are all kinds of expensive and honestly my skin feels softer and smoother after I use raw honey than when I use a $60 moisturizer cream.
Honey hydrates and nourishes your skin without irritating your face like harsh chemicals found in many skin care products. It has properties that help lighten dark spots, kill bacteria, and moisturize your skin. Remember, always buy raw honey to avoid any additives.
I previously ordered my raw honey from Vitacost, and while it was ok, it doesn’t hold a flame to local Oklahoma honey. I don’t know about the honey bees in your state but here in Oklahoma, them honey bees know how to get work done. I seriously might have used half a jar in a week and a half. A little on my face, a little in my food, I just can’t resist. Local honey can be a little pricey but so worth it. I’m going to tell my hubby to forget the flowers and just to keep the honey flowing!
